Welcome to Debt Fast Track
I am very happy to introduce to you the Debt Fast Track website and Blog. Please stay tuned as I attempt to bring you news and information that will help you achieve a financially secure situation for your family. We are surrounded by news of people who are losing their homes, jobs, investments, etc. As a nation we were in love with risky investments, using all of our savings and equity. Guys like me were readily reviled by the financial industry as we preached caution and secure financial strategies. For a while it seemed like the sky was the limit on every investment, and we all wanted a piece of it. However, even in the face of financial setbacks both nationally and personally, I have a message of hope. You can achieve financial security for your family. This should be your ultimate objective. Once true financial security is achieved, you can feel more free and secure about more risky investments. Financial security leads to significantly reduces stress, and is a primary stepping stone towards financial prosperity. We have seen many families lose everything as they ignored the conservative and secure methods that we will discuss during this blog. If you are tired of losing the financial battles, I hope you keep reading. The discovery of this blog may be the most significant financial event of your life.
Several of my friends have asked me to start blogging for some time now. I have been a personal consultant for 13 years, specializing in accelerated debt payoffs, budgeting and overall financial security. I brag about the fact that I have helped real people become completely debt free and live within their means. When I say completely debt free, I include their home in that statement. I know, I know, you have heard many companies make those claims before, but once you look under the hood there are precious few companies that can really point to a client or multiple clients that have paid all of their debt. So, I am in a unique position to give out advice on a broader scale. My systems are quite common sense, and certainly easy enough to understand. There is no smoke and mirrors, and I do not pretend to have any tools that somehow are only available in my system. They just work if they are applied consistently, and correctly. That, of course, is the difficult part.
Let me define for you what I mean about financial security. Ultimately, to be financially independent and secure, you need to 1) be debt free, including mortgage, student and car loans, 2) acquire the skills and tools necessary to live within your budget, 3) save up a 6 month reserve of truly liquid funds to cover all monthly expenses (this, of course, is much easier if you are debt free), 4) store emergency supplies in case of natural disaster, 5) buy proper insurance against tragedy/catastrophe, and 6) create a well crafted and implemented estate plan. This is truly the boring end of the financial industry, don’t you think? Of course, we all know and admire people around us who are well on their way to accomplishing the financial security as outlined above. We recognize that they have peace of mind when it comes to finances. We admire their resolve and their will to accomplish such menial tasks. We dream of being in their situation. It is time to turn the dream into reality. Based on my extensive experience, I have discovered that people who are financially secure plan to be financially secure. It is one of the key objectives in their spending, attitudes and marriages. Why do they succeed? It is likely not because they have more resources or income than you. However, they have created a plan and are determined to stick with the plan. They may have sacrificed square feet, fashion, fancy cars, and swanky restaurant food, but they have peace of mind, and ultimately a greater sense of satisfaction in all aspects of their life.
I think I am getting a little too preachy, so let me change gears for a moment. In this blog I intend to highlight and make available practical solutions. I will also be linking to other articles and resources that I find pertinent. Please alert me if you see something that you like as well. I hope to have a meaningful forum for asking questions related to real life problems, so that I can address solutions in a meaningful and helpful way. There will be resources for both the do-it-yourself personality, as well as those who would like a little more professional hand-holding. All are welcome. At the end of the day, I hope that you find real solutions for your issues. I also hope that you will come back, and tell your friends about it. If this experiment goes well, I will be writing, linking and cheering for you until you have reached the type of financial independence and security described above. I won’t pretend to be the greatest writer in the world. I hope you will forgive my shortcomings in this regard and recognize the intentions behind what I write.
That is it for now. Tomorrow, we will tackle more pressing and practical issues.
